Foods Alive

 

While there is no place we would rather be than Southern California, events like Natural Products Expo West are great opportunities to learn about the good work that folks around the country are doing. When we met Matt Moor from Angola, Indiana based Foods Alive, we knew we’d found a kindred spirit!


Foods Alive is family owned and operated by Matt, his parents Ellen and Michael Moor, and his wife Tammy. Ellen and Michael first encountered flax crackers at a raw food buffet at the now-defunct Creative Health Institute in Michigan. After their visit, Michael started asking local health food stores for flax crackers, but no one had ever heard of such a thing, so Ellen started making them at home for her family! Around the same time, Matt and Tammy’s baby’s digestive ailments motivated them to remove highly processed artificial foods from their diet, instead embracing the wonderful world of organic, natural foods. Together, the family agreed that Ellen’s flax crackers were too good to keep to themselves, and thus Foods Alive was born!  


In 2002, Foods Alive introduced the first in its line of dehydrated Certified Organic Golden Flax Crackers with 4 flavors: Original, Maple & Cinnamon, Italian Zest, and Mexican Harvest. Using the finest certified organic, vegan, kosher, and gluten-free ingredients, they created a simple, healthy, Keto-friendly whole food that everyone could enjoy. Foods Alive has since added more flavors to their line of flax crackers, as well as a line of infused oils and dressings made from their small-batch, cold-pressed golden flax oil and a line of organic, raw, superfoods.
